Trionfi Della Luna Tarot - Illustrated Pips Edition

Patrick Valenza, creator of the beloved Deviant Moon Tarot, brings a companion deck that shares its DNA while striking out in a distinctly different direction. The Trionfi Della Luna is rooted in the Marseille tradition but treated with the same irreverent sensibility that defines Valenza's work. The moon-faced characters are hand-painted in ink, watercolor, and gouache with some digital refinement, and they carry the deck's central quality: a delight in exposing the absurdity and shadow of human behavior without ever becoming cruel about it.

This illustrated pips edition adds pictorial scenes to all the Minor Arcana, giving readers more to work with than a traditional Marseille structure would allow. The overall tone is satirical and sly, a deck that will wink at you during a reading and mean it sincerely. It works well for readers who love Marseille-style decks but want one with a more pronounced personality.

About the Creator

Patrick Valenza is one of the most inventive figures in contemporary tarot, best known for the Deviant Moon Tarot. His imagery blends surreal landscapes with sardonic wit, and characters that seem to have emerged from an unsettling but oddly funny dream. His fascination with cemeteries and abandoned places goes back to childhood and runs through all his work. Now retired from teaching art, he devotes his full attention to deck creation.
