The Tarot of the Moors was created with a specific historical and cultural context in mind: the period of Moorish Spain, when different religious and intellectual traditions coexisted in an atmosphere of genuine exchange. The deck frames tarot as a vehicle for reflecting that richness, bringing forward imagery and symbolism that most Western tarot traditions have not explored.
The 78 cards follow a modified Rider-Waite-Smith framework and include court card ranks that differ from the standard, as well as Hebrew letters, astrological signs, elemental associations, and esoteric card titles. A guidebook provides interpretations, keywords, spreads, and a narrative historical context that makes the reading experience feel grounded in something real. The deck works for readers at all levels and is equally suited to straightforward readings or deeper study.
