The Necronomicon Tarot
The Necronomicon Tarot draws from Donald Tyson's dark and intricate fantasy trilogy rooted in the mythology of H.P. Lovecraft's infamous grimoire, building a 78-card deck around the wanderings of the tormented poet Alhazred through a world of cosmic horror and forbidden knowledge. Fantasy artist Anne Stokes created illustrations that are genuinely visceral, capturing the strange, monstrous quality of Tyson's Necronomicon world while remaining faithful to the underlying structure and tradition of the tarot.
A companion book accompanies the cards, providing context for the mythic and narrative material while guiding readers through the divination system. About the Creators
Anne Stokes grew up in London, where her father's reading of The Hobbit first sparked her interest in the fantasy genre. She has illustrated for Wizards of the Coast, including interior art for multiple Dungeons and Dragons editions across several years of publication. Her work spans game books, album covers, and editorial illustration.
