Paulina Cassidy brings an unmistakably personal aesthetic to the Rider-Waite tradition, filling her cards with creatures born from imagination rather than convention: dragons making unannounced appearances, flying horses moving through dream-colored scenes, characters dressed in a blend of Victorian costume and Mardi Gras flair. The palette is soft and muted, painted in watercolor with fine pen and ink work that rewards close examination. The symbolism pulls from holistic healing, dream imagery, and years of intuitive practice, making it feel genuinely personal rather than assembled from a handbook. It is a deck that has been collected worldwide for over two decades.
Paulina Cassidy was born in Guelph, Ontario, and has been drawing since childhood, finding alternate worlds a natural and close presence throughout her life. She works primarily in watercolor and pen and ink, building her compositions in fine, organic layers that vary in technique from piece to piece. She is also a songwriter and recording artist on Projeck Records, regarding music and visual art as two expressions of the same creative source. Paulina and her husband Kevin live in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
