The Antique Anatomy Tarot

The Antique Anatomy Tarot takes vintage anatomical drawings and botanical illustrations and transforms them into a tarot deck that is both visually arresting and thematically coherent. Creator Claire Goodchild of the design studio Black and the Moon works in collage, layering old medical and natural history imagery with plants and flowers to create something that feels simultaneously archaic and fresh.

The 78 cards have a sepia-toned, borderless quality that makes them feel like artifacts from a cabinet of curiosities, the kind of images you might find in an old library volume. The accompanying guidebook covers each card with clear descriptions, setup guides for several types of spreads including Celtic Cross and Moon Cycle layouts, and notes on numerological, elemental, and astrological associations.
