This Il Meneghello reproduction honors a rare 1809 deck produced at a pivotal moment in Italian history, when the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy was reshaping institutions across the peninsula. The deck was printed at the Regia Fabbrica playing card factory in Milan under the direction of Ferdinando Gumppenberg, and this 2023 edition was created from an original print proof made before any maker marks were added. The card backs have a distinctive pink hue not found in later printings. This edition is limited to 1,000 copies.
