Talisman Tarot

Oli Starfrosting made a deliberate choice to strip the trump cards back to essential forms, working with just a few lines and colors so that the symbolic power of each card can come through without historical or cultural distractions. The pip cards follow the cartomantic tradition, with swords and wands printed in indigo and cups and coins in ruby red. The court cards carry subtle distinctions of bearing and character. Starfrosting created the original artwork through a planographic printmaking process, which gives the whole deck a visual unity that is particularly apparent when you lay multiple cards side by side. The cards are printed in the US on 410 gsm silk stock with a matte coating, and the box is made from post-consumer recycled material.
