Mythologia Fennica Tarot

Mythologia Fennica Tarot

Finnish mythology is rich with nature spirits, ancient deities, and stories rooted in the landscape of the north, and this deck brings all of that material into the structure of a standard 78-card tarot. The four suits are organized around the natural elements, each carrying its own thread of Finnish folk tradition. The result is a deck that feels genuinely grounded in a specific cultural world rather than generically decorative. Readers interested in Nordic spirituality or mythology will find real depth here, and those new to Finnish tradition will find the deck a compelling introduction through the lens of tarot.

About the Creator

Susanna Elina Salo was born and raised in Helsinki and works as a self-taught artist and painter whose goal is to make Finnish and Karelian mythology accessible to a wide audience. She illustrated most of the cards herself, drawing on her deep familiarity with the creatures, characters, and events of her country’s folklore. Susanna is committed to finding in ancient stories something that anyone can recognize in their own life, bringing mythological figures into a modern context. Outside her art practice, she forages, gardens, grows medicinal herbs, and spends time in the natural landscapes that have shaped Finnish spiritual tradition.
