The Dark Side of Tarot is built for shadow work — the practice of turning toward rather than away from the parts of ourselves we'd rather not examine. The deck takes Rider-Waite-Smith imagery as its base and then pushes it into more intense psychological territory, with interpretations designed to probe rather than reassure. The 192-page guidebook by Sasha Graham is particularly well thought out, including a useful side-by-side comparison of each card's standard RWS meaning and its shadow equivalent, making the shift in framework clear and accessible.
