The companion book by Toney Brooks goes considerably further than the deck's booklet, exploring the spiritual and psychological dimensions of the Otherworld archetypes that populate Chrysalis. It connects tarot to broader metaphysical concepts including archetypes, healing, and chakra work, while Holly Sierra contributes original black-and-white sketches for each card along with reflections on her creative process.
About the Creators
Toney Brooks retired from broadcasting before spending years traveling and researching spirituality. His academic interests span comparative mythology, consciousness studies, and Jungian psychology as they connect to tarot. He holds a doctorate in Metaphysical Cultural Anthropology and a certification as a Spiritual Counselor.
Holly Sierra studied fine arts at SUNY Purchase before spending six years living and working in Asia. Her illustrations draw together influences from folk art, fine art, and the decorative traditions of many cultures. She currently makes her home in Sedona, Arizona.
